LactoPlan

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE METABOLITES

A LACTIC-ACID BACTERIA THAT CAN BE PELLETED INTO FEED

LactoPlan is produced by our proprietary solid state fermentation process. All metabolites are present in the final product. With proven efficacy even after pelleting, LactoPlan is the ideal solution for promoting gut health and productivity in swine and poultry.

LACTOPLAN BENEFITS

  •  Heat-stable to 95-degree C and can be pelleted into feed
  •  Shelf-Stable to maintain guaranteed cell counts during extended periods of storage
  •  A lactic-acid producing bacteria that works antagonistically toward pathogens
  •  Can lower pH to create an environment that supports a healthy balance of microflora
  •  Viable microorganisms that provide nutritional benefits
  •  Research has shown a nutritional advantage to poultry during times of stress

LACTOBACILLUS PLANTARUM EXPLAINED

LactoPlan is a ground-breaking heat-stable and self-stable Lactobacillus plantarum (GB-LP1) that can be included in pelleted feed and maintain its high cell count after extended periods of storage. Lactobacillus is a common lactic acid bacterium that works antagonistically toward pathogens while supporting nutrient utilization. Supplementation of Lactobacillus in pelleted feeds for use in animal diets until now was not done because the bacterium was not heat or shelf stable. Lactobacillus plantarum, the lactic acid bacteria source in LactoPlan, is different and able to withstand pelleting temperatures of 95-degree C and can maintain guaranteed cell counts for up to one year of storage.

LactoPlan was developed over years of research in South Korea and the United States by Nutraferma’s innovative research and development team. LactoPlan is different due to the way the Lactobacillus plantarum is grown and concentrated. Unlike other direct-fed microbial products on the market, Lactobacillus plantarum is fermented on a feed grain substrate and therefore tends to be heartier than those grown on artificial substrates. The microbe is acclimated to utilize nutrients that are commonly found in diets, giving it higher activities, heat stability, and it retains the lactic acid and other metabolites created during fermentation.

LactoPlan has shown nutritional advantages in swine and poultry diets. As a lactic-acid producing bacteria, LactoPlan works antagonistically towards pathogens and creates an environment that supports a healthy balance of microflora. Recent research indicates that when broilers exposed to E. Coli were fed LactoPlan, they were able to achieve normal life-spans with reduced moralities.
